The Bishon Frise was originally founded in Europe. The breed wasn't really popular or known aournd the other countries yet. That was until Francis saw the Bishon as an enchanted breed. He loved everything about him.  During his time as king, everyone wanted and admired this cute little white dog. Soon after he lost his reign the Bishon was just an ordinary breed. Soon they started branching to other countries and eventually the United States.
A Bishon is the best described as a marshmallow. A fluffy white ball of fur. They can be as big as 30 pounds, but as small as 6-10 pounds. They are all white with the acceptation of some cream or apricot in some rare cases.
Grooming any pet is very important. You should brush Bishons daily. Their fur can knot easily and become tangled if you don't. You should cut their hair every 2 or 3 months. You can get them a "puppy cut" or a show cut. The are known for being excellent show dogs. Best in show and most groomed are the ones the tend to win most.
They can live 10-13 years. The record is about 19 years. They tend to wear out faster than other dogs, most likely because of their small stature. They are often a lot more susceptible to sicknesses than other dogs, but are not unhealthy.
They can be used to hunt mice or small rodents but aren't as athletic and durable as other dogs. Most owners buy them just as a family pet or a show dog.
They have the same hair all over their body as humans do on their heads. Most of the Bishon's hair is curly, but their have been a few straight haired ones.
