Alex Rodriguez whose nickname is "A Rod" plays for the New York Yankees.  He started his career with the Seattle Mariners and then was traded to the New York Yankees.  He bats and throws right handed and plays third base.  He has been in the league for 12 years. He has always been a great player, he has 381 career home runs and a lifetime average of .305. He was born on July 27, 1975 in New York, New York.  He got interested in baseball at an early age and by high school the scouts were very interested in him. Then in 1994 Alex Rodriguez was drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He started out slow in his first 2 years and then he broke out 1996, he hit .358 and hit an amazing 36 home runs!  He has posted great numbers like this through out his career.               

     
 

           `Barry Bonds is arguably one of the best players to ever play baseball. He is third all time on the all time home run list only behind Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.  He started his career in 1989 and played for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pirates for a couple of years and then was traded to the San Francisco Giants. He has great stats, he has a lifetime average of .300 and an amazing 703 home runs. He bats and throws left handed and plays left field. He was born on July 24, 1964 in Riverside, California. He made his major league debut on May 30th, 1986. He has been great with 11 all stars appearances and also has the single season home run record with 73.

                  Derek Jeter plays short stop for the New York Yankees. He bats and throws righty. He has always played for the Yankees and started his major league career in 1995.  He has a lifetime average of .315 and has a spectacular on base percentage of .848.  Derek Jeter was born on June 26, 1974 in Pequannock, New Jersey. At age 6 he was introduced to baseball and immediately fell in love with the Yankees.  In his senior year at high school Jeter batted .508 for his team.  Then he decided to go pro and go to college in the off season.  On May 29, 1995 Jeter  made his major league debut.
