BMX wouldn't
be BMX without tricks. It's all about who can do the best trick on a bike.
There are a wide variety of tricks that you can do on a bike, and all were
invented by famous riders. |

Tricks have
different skill levels for each one. Some are easy to do, and some take
serious skill and determination to do. People who are new to BMX may be
able to understand what some tricks are such as a no-hander, no-footer,
nothing, backflip, ect. Others are more difficult to understand what is
going on. |
|
Well start by
talking about some tricks. A superman, was originally a trick that was
only done on a dirt bike but then later was tried and done on regular BMX
bikes. To do a superman, you need a lot of hangtime, and when you get off
the lip of the jump, take your feet off the pedels and extend your body
like your flying, but keep holding on to the handle bars, and as you're
coming down make sure to spot your landing and keep it in your mind,
otherwise you could screw your body up badly. |

A tailwhip is
when the rider takes his non-dominate foot off the of bike, put it on the
side with his other dominate foot, and kicks the back of the bike around
while hanging on with his hands. When you see the back of the bike start
to come around, life your left leg up so the bike can come around and you
can get both of you feet back on the pedels to land. |

Two of my
favorite tricks are a 360 tailwhip and a 720 to fakie. I like them because
they are a real challenge to do and look nice and fluent when you watch
them. |
