Cheerleading is known a lot for stunts and jumps. There are many different types of stunts. Some stunts, also known as mounts or pyramids, are illegal for any squad under collegiate level. For instance a high school squad cannot build any higher than two people. Other stunts that include only two people with out a spot are illegal. A spot is when one or more people stand around to ensure the safety the stunters.

The basic
stunt is an elevator. An elevator includes two bases, people who
hold the flyer, a backspot, the flyer's spotter, and a flyer, the person
at the top of the stunt. A very beginner stunt in a knee stand.
|
| A knee
stand is when your bases get in a lounging position. Your flyer then
stands on the thighs. Another easy stunt is called the shoulder
sit. This stunt is usually only done by two people. The bases
get in a lounging position and the flyer pops onto the bases shoulders.

You can
form many different types of stunts from a basic elevator. Such as
an extension, which is like an elevator, with the bases extending their
arms. Other stunts include the liberty and the star. There are
tow ways to come out of a mount.
|
| Craddling
is one way. A cradle is when two bases toss the flyer in the air and
catch her. Another way is to just simply walk off the front of the
stunt by holding the bases hands.
