Cheerleading camps offer a variety of things.  Most camps are held during the summer all over the United States.

All camps have admission fees. Depending on what the camps offer the prices will vary.  Some camps are "overnight" and some are day camps.  Overnight camps are mostly held at universities, the participants stay in dorm rooms.

At camp you can go with your whole squad or by yourself.  Most people go with the squad.  You learn many things at camp.  The instructors teach you new cheers, stunts, jumps, dances, and games.

Most camps have competitions.  UCA (United Cheerleading Association) offers a jumping contest and a Home Pom Dance contest.  A home pom dance is the dance your squad makes up before camp.

Camps also give out Spirit Sticks and the top banana is when your whole squad has as much "spirit" as possible.  When you get the spirit stick you're supposed to decorate it and give it to another squad.

Many popular camps around are American Cheer Power, C.O.A (cheerleaders of America), NCA (National Cheerleaders Association), Elite Cheerleading Inc, Spirit Cheer, Premier Cheer Camps, United States Spirit Leaders, and West Coast Company.

Some of the games you learn at camp are "Little Sally Walker, Down to the River, Ships and Sailors, and the all time favorite Peanut Butter Jelly Time."

Cheer camps are not always fun and games.  They consist of long hours in the sun.  Camps also put a strain on your muscles.
