Mario and Jaromir were the best of friends. Mario helped Jaromir out with his skating and plays but through the years their friendship faded, they still talked but weren't really close anymore. Eventually Jaromir quit and Mario took over the team. |

From the moment that Jaromir met Mario he admired him. Jaromir said "he has great talent on the ice," I admire his ability to stay focused and to stay determined!" Between Mario and Jaromir they had led the Penguins to their first Stanley cu. Everyone was so happy, fans were cheering everything was perfect for The Penguins. | ||

Afterwards the Penguins were ready to get the Stanley cup more often. Jaromir played for the Penguins from the early 90's to the late 90's. In 1975-76 the team owner onwced bankruptcy. Mario was named MVP of 1991 on the game to win the Stanley cup. Mario got 45 points in a 26 regular season games. | ||

Mario missed 16 games with back spasms that still bother him today. In 1992-93 penguins broke the record of 50 won games the got 56! Later Mario had discovered he had Hodgkin's disease, a form of cancer. This disease could have ended his career, but he came back after his intense physical therapy. |

Mario is 6-foot-4 and 210lbs. He soon went back to play for the penguins, and everyone quickly recognized his skills on the ice. | ||

In 1986 he received the Lester Person award from the players association as the outstanding player in the N.H.L. Mario constantly broke the 100-point plateau. He scored 85 goals and added 114 assists for a remarkable 199 point. |
