Pop and Rap

	Eminem,(aka: Marshall Mathers) grew up in Detroit, Michigan. At a young age Mathers knew that he wanted to rap and he would do anything to be able to do that. In 1998 he released a record called Slim Shady, which caught Dr. Dre’s attention. The two started to work on other records for Eminem. Now 7 years later Eminem has won the heart of many Americans and will continue to for many years.
.Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24, 1970. At the age of 7 Jennifer went on her first tour with her dance group. Then at 16 Jennifer performed in her first movie though her true love was still dancing. In 1998 Jennifer Lopez released her first record. It shot to number one on the billboards and would change her future. In the next years of her life she would come out with more albums and more records.
	On December 2, 1981 Britney Jean Spears was born. At a young age she sang at various events including school talent shows. At the age of 11 Britney tried out for the Mickey Musketeers, which was a popular TV show at the time. She did make the Musketeers along with other stars like Justin Timberlake. In 1997 she signed a contract with Jive Records and would soon release her first album Baby One More Time. She also came out with other records like Oops I Did It Again, I’m a Slave For You, and In The Zone.
In 1998 Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams started Destiny’s Child. Through the years they have had three cds. They are called Destiny’s Child, Writings on the Walls and Survivor. In 2003 the group split to take on solo careers but promised that they would return together. In 2004 the group did just that. They returned with a cd called Destiny Fulfilled.
	In 1995 Chris Kirkpatrik decided to start the group ‘NSYNC, which included J.C Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and Justin Timberlake. The group would end up releasing their first record in 1998 called I Want You Back. In the mid ‘90’s they became a successful group of boys and release more albums such as Bye Bye Bye, and Celebrity. However in 2003 the group split to fulfill other dreams.
On September 4, 1981 Beyonce Knowles was born. In 1997 she was signed to Columbia Records with the singing group Destiny’s Child. In 2002 Beyonce got a big acting break while playing Foxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers Goldmember. In 2003 she came out with her first solo record called Crazy In Love, which featured such artists as Jay-Z. In 2004 the group Destiny’s Child came out with another record called Destiny Fulfilled.
