opera, so there is no spoken dialogue. The show revolves around cat
characters and, the singers have to be the cats. That means they have to
look, act and move like them. Their character names are even cat names. |

Cats was
originally produced at the New London Theatre on May 11, 1981. It began to
run in New York at the Winter Garden Theatre on October 7, 1982. People who
have seen the show have fallen in love with it. It is a truly amazing
show. The last song called "Memory" is a beautiful
song that really makes the show complete. |

| T.S. Eliot
died in 1985. 18 years later he received a Tony Award for Cats. Cats was
the longest running Broadway show in history. On for 18 years and had
7,485 performances. On Sunday, September 10, 2000, Cats came off Broadway.
It still tours and does shows throughout the country and England, though.
So, if Cats ever comes to a city near you, be sure to see it and, you'll
