Muscle and classic cars are mostly all American cars From the 80's and before. Most classic cars can be upgraded and modified to muscle cars with bigger tires, paint and superchargers.  
In 1970 Plymouth  made a barracuda. The hemi cuda was the performance version with of course a 426 hemi V8 that packed 390 horsepower. At the time hemi cudas Were some of the best drag racers. 
The gt 500was first brought to my attention in a movie called "Gone in Sixty Seconds". Since then I have been a fan of shelby mustangs. This by far is my favorite shelby car. With the V8 it has about 360 horsepower.
The Legendary Corvette has been around for decades. When I hear the word muscle car the first word I think of is Corvettes. Over the years the question has been asked what is better the corvette or the mustang many times. 
The Dodge Challenger is your basic muscle car. Its not built to go 200 m.p.h. but, it will go fast. I saw this car in the, movie "2 Fast 2 Furious" 
In 1969 more than 86000 Chevelles were sold. The e chevelle wasn't to exspencive and was easily upgraded. It came with a small, yet fast, 396 V8 that put out about 325 horsepower.   
This car was built to compete with the mustang in 1967. I would say the mustang won but, The comero Came in a close 2nd. The comero ss came with a 350 V8 with 325, 350, or 375 horsepower.
This is the Plymouth roadrunners big brother. It was built to run high speeds. The front bumper and rear wing are for added down force and aerodynamics. The street versions came with 440 4bbl, a 440 6 pack, or a 426 hemi.
