Vladislav Tretiak Vladislav Tretiak is by far one of the most talented players ever to play the game of hockey. Although he is more commonly known as the goalie for team Russia when the 1980 team USA defeated the Russians and went on to win the 1980 winter olympics. But he in fact only played one period of this game. He was pulled after letting up 2 goals in the 1st period. Many feel that if Tretiak would have played the whole game, Russia would have won that game against team America. Tretiak was never allowed by his country to come and play for the NHL but he will always be remembered as a great goalie.
