Gerry Cheevers

      Gerry Cheevers made his debut in the 1965-1966 season with the Boston Bruins.  He played only 6 games because most of the goaltending was done by 20 year old rookie Bernard Parent who would later play for the Philadelphia Flyers.  When Parent was traded, Cheevers quickly jumped into the starting role for the Boston Bruins.  Gerry Cheevers went on to win 2 Stanley cups in 1970 and 1972.  He is now in the Hall of Fame and will be remebered to this date

            

 

Ed Giacomin

     Ed Giacomin was 26 when he made his debut in the NHL with the New York Rangers.  He played 36 games that year and became the starting goalie the following year. His talents made it possible for his team to make it to the playoffs after a 4 year drought.  His number is now retired for the New York Rangers to show the fan's love for him. 

                     

 

                     

                 

       

Bernie Parent

     Philadelphia is a team that has been known for their dominenance in the NHL and they owe their stanely cup years to their goalie Bernie Parent.  He was no doubt a fan favorite.  He has also coached many famous goalie which include Patrick Roy.  He won many awards including the Con Smythe and the Vezina trophy.  His career was brought to a tragic hault when he was poked in the eye through his mask with a stick.  He would never play another game n the NHL but will be remembered forever.       

                

Cesar Maniago

     Cesar Maniago, like many other goalies, had to wait for several years before earning his spot as a starter.  He made his debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1960-1961 season.  He played only 7 games that year and was sent back down to the minors.  He returned to Montreal in 1962 playing only 14 games.  He was then traded to the New York Rangers and next sent to the North Stars where his career would take off.  He will be remembered forever.
