Terry Sawchuk Terry Sawchuk is known to many as the greatest goalie who ever lived. He holds many records in the NHL which includes most shutouts in a career with over 100 in his 21 year career with 5 teams. He single handedly carried every team he played for every single year. Sawchuk dried tragically while he was still playing in the NHL. This is a sad day that hockey will remember forever. Throughout his career, he was traded many times because he couldn't seem to get along with any of his coaches or teammates. He was known as a sour, mean man but with out a doubt, he was the greatest goaltender to ever live.
