Sammy Sosa is one of today’s best players.  This right-handed hitter went out with 35 home runs last year, and a 253 batting average.  Sosa formally on the Cubs was just traded to the Baltimore Orioles.  Sosa is also a 7th time all star.

 

   Barry Bonds is the big left-handed hitter and gives a new name to the word power.  In 2001 Bonds shattered the home run record by hitting 73 in one season.  Last year Bonds had 45 home runs and a batting average of 362!  He is currently on the San Francisco Giants and is 41 years old.    

 

 

 

 

 

   Randy Johnson is one of the baseball's oldest pitchers.  This big left handed pitcher brings one of the most sickest sliders to the game.  Recently he has been traded to the New York Yankees.  With 290 strike outs last year, who wouldn't want him .

 

   Making it on to the cover of a baseball game is a major thing.  Being the MVP (most valuable player) of the world series last year Manny Ramirez snatched the cover of Mvp Baseball 2005.  Ramirez is now on the Red Sox and had 43 home runs last year.  Manny also had a batting average of 308 

   

 

     Mariano Rivera is one of the best closers in the MLB.  This New York Yankee pitcher ended the season with 50 saves last year.  This 6'2 right handed thrower gives a new name to the word heat.

 

   Along with Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling is one of the oldest pitchers there is.  Schilling is one of the best, and is on the Boston Red Sox.  Last year Curt had 203 strike outs and a ERA of only 3.26.   

 

     Derek Jeter is one of the best leaders in baseball.  Jeter is a shortstop for the New York Yankees, and continues to lead them to the World Series almost every year.  Last year he had 23 homers and a batting average of  292.  He is one of the games best players

 

   Not since the days of Sandy Koufax has a pitcher been as dominant as Pedro Martinez..  He blows away hitters, he wins 75% of his decisions and he has been durable.  Pedro fires a high 90's fast ball with great movement.  He has several curves, and a paralyzing change up.  Recently  Martinez has been traded to the New York Mets.  They should be happy to have him.   

 

     Ken Griffey Jr. is one of the greatest center fielders of all time.  On the Cincinnati Reds Griffey hit 22 home runs last year, and had an average of 286.  Griffey has been on the Reds for 5 years now

 

   Juan Pierre is the definition of speed.  He is currently on the Florida Marlins, and is an exceptional outfielder.  Last year Pierre stole     45 bases and had an batting average of 326.
