There are 2 different types of motocross competitions. There is racing which accually motocross and there is freestyle which is doing ticks.

	Racing- Racing is called motocross. There can be up as many as 25 competitors or more in one race. In racing you have to run qualifiers to find out where you stand in the race. There are usually 2 heats, sometimes there are 4 or 5. Motocross racing is on a dirt track with jumps, rollers, and all sorts of other things.
	Freestyle- Freestyle is when they do tricks infront of judges and crowds. The better the trick, the higher score they are given. They start off on a ramp and ride down that and hit usually big jumps to do tricks to impress the judges. Freestyle is all about who can pull off the craziest trick.
