It starts out in Briny Beach when the Baudelaires find out their parents were killed in a fire. From there they went to Count Olaf's house. There they have to do countless chores. Then Count Olaf try's to get the Baudelaire fortune by marrying Violet. In the end Olaf doesn't marry Violet but does get away.
This book starts out on a road to Lousy Lane which Uncle Monty lived on. The children loved this guardian. Then Olaf disguises himself as Uncle Monty's assistant. He then blames a snake for Uncle Monty's death. To prove that the snake didn't do it Sunny starts to play with it. In the end Olaf gets away again.

	This book starts with the orphans on Damocles Dock. They are on their way to their Aunt Josephine. She is a grammar freak. She is also afraid of everything. The kids are happy until Olaf comes. He makes Josephine write that the orphans are now in his care. In the end Aunt Josephine is clamed to be dead the orphans are off to another guardian and Olaf escapes.
This book starts with the kids on a train. There they go to Lucky Smells Lumbermill. There they have to work. Olaf comes and puts Klaus under hypnotists. In the end the kids are safe but are going to another guardian and once again Olaf escapes.

	The kids are at Prufrock Preparatory School. They finally get two friends Duncan and Isadora Quagmire. Olaf comes and starts a running activity for the orphans. In the end Olaf captures Duncan and Isadora and escapes.
This starts with the orphans on the way to Dark Avenue. Where their new guardian are very concerned with what is "in". Esmé is also the secret girlfriend of Count Olaf. The kids try to rescue their friends. In the end though Olaf escapes with the Quagmires.

The orphans are on a bus on the way to V.F.D. When they get there they realize the whole town is their guardian. They live with the towns handyman. In the end the children are marked murders and the Quagmires are with the handyman and Olaf escapes with Esmé.

In the beginning of this book they are walking across a desert wasteland. They are running away from the police. They end up with a group called V.F.D. they take them to a hospital. Olaf is disguised as a doctor who is going to try to do surgery on violet. It ends with violet saved but her Klaus and sunny are trapped in Olaf's car.
	This starts with the kids in Olaf's car. They decide to disguise themselves. They fin out Olaf uses a fake psychic. She is really a V.F.D. member and so was the orphans parents and Olaf. In the end Olaf captures Sunny, the carnival burned down and Klaus and Violet tumble back down a hill.

In this book Klaus and Violet are traveling up the mountain to try and get Sunny back. They reach a cave in the mountains were some scouts are. That's where they meet Quigley Quagmire the last triplet. Sunny cooks a meal for Olaf and does other things. In the end Quigley down a stream while the orphans go down another, and Olaf is chasing them.
	This starts with the orphans on the Stricken Stream going down hill. They meet up with the captain of the Quequeg. They are taken on board were they hope to find more about V.F.D. They are on their way to try and find the sugar bowl. Sunny get infected with a virus. Fiona goes and joins Count Olaf. In the end the orphans get in a cab with Kit Snicket and Olaf gets away.
