| Billie Joe Armstrong was born on February 17, 1972 in Berkeley, California. Billie was raised by his mother and father in Rodeo, California until his jazz musician/truck driver dad died of cancer when he was ten years old. |  |

When Billie was young he would sing at hospitals to cheer up patients. He recorded his first song "Look For Love" at Frat Records when he was five years old. He received his first guitar, a blue Fernandez Stratocaster which he nicknamed "Blue" when he was eleven years old. |
| Billie Joe and childhood friend Mike Dirnt were the original members of the hit punk-rock band, Green Day. Billie started writing songs when he was 14. The first song he wrote was called "Why Do You Want Him?". In 1988 Billie Joe formed with Mike Dirnt to form the current hit punk-rock band, Green Day. |  |

| Billie has played in other bands aside from Green Day, such as, Pinhead Gunpowder, Blatz, Rancid, The Lookouts, Goodbye Harry, and Corrupted Morals. Billie Joe looked up to certain people that have gone through the music industry, not all of them are in the rock genre either. Believe it or not, Billie Joe greatly admired the famous rapper, Tupac Shakur, who grew up in the same area as the guys of Green Day. |  |

Billie Joe was married to wife Adrienne Nesser in 1994. Then in March of 1995 his first son Joseph Marciano was born. Then in September of 1997 his second son, Jacob Danger was born. |
