Paul was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool.  His mother was a nurse and father was a cotton salesman.  His family was not very wealthy. He liked painting and was interested in art.

His parents sent him to an institute at eleven and there he became best friends with George Harrison. Paul’s father bought him a trumpet but then later he traded it in for a guitar.

Music became very important to Paul and he did not care about anything else.  Then Paul meets John Lennon and Paul John and George join John’s band the Quarrymen and became quite popular in Liverpool. .

Once the Beatles started they began playing in the United States and Paul loved New York. Also, he loved the money he was getting but he still wished when he walked outside he wouldn’t get stormed by girls and the media.

The Paul met Jane Asher and lived with her for a while. Jane opened Paul’s eyes to new kinds of art.  Then Paul met Linda Eastman, who he married in March 1964.  Linda and Paul had a lot in common; they both were very into art and music. Then in August 1964 his daughter Mary was born.  Then Stella was born on 1971 and James was born on 1977. Also Linda had another daughter Heather.

In 1970 Brain Epstein the bands manager died and the band started falling apart. Then, Paul officially announced in public that the band was over. Then Paul ended up suing the other band mates and slipped into depression.

From that Paul started his solo career. In 1970, Paul released his first solo album titled “McCartney.” Also, Paul put together a band named Wings with Linda and a few other musicians. Paul’s album was still not as popular as John’s album so it was battle between them.

Paul McCartney is still working on music today. Recently, at Super Bowl in 2005, he played “Hey Jude” at the half time. He is an amazing artist but nothing can compare to his work when he was in the Beatles.
