MGM Studios is a theme park and working production studio. This park features attractions, Broadway-style shows, live entertainment, all centered around popular films, television, music, and animation. In the center of this park is a 122-foot Sorcerer's Hat, designed to resemble the hat worn by Mickey Mouse in Disney's animated film "Fantasia".
At MGM Studios, Hollywood and Sunset boulevards recreate the glamorous golden age of Hollywood. One favorite attraction here at MGM Studios is the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This haunted hallway journey has multiple 13-story drops in a runaway service elevator. It is a very thrilling fall and many people do not miss out on this experience. Another attraction is the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith as an indoor thrill ride. This coaster blasts you off at a quick start at amazing speeds, shocking many seated passengers who were not expecting it.
One thing you have to do here at MGM Studios is to see "Fantasmic!" It is an attention grabbing show which takes you into the dreams of Sorcerer Mickey. The show is a battle of the good vs. the evil. Mickey's magic creates dancing waters, dazzling lasers, shooting comets, animated fountains, swirling stars, balls of fire, and many other wonders.
Many visitors love to watch the death-defying stunts on the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. Hollywood Stuntmen and special effects wizards take you into this forbidden temple. This show is not something you can pass up!
At the Theater of the Stars, there is a Broadway-style rendition of "Beauty and the Beast". Highlights from the animated film about Belle and the Beast's love story are brought to life on stage. If you ever wanted the feeling of bursting into outer space, take a ride on the motion simulated ride "Star Tours", based on the movie "Star Wars". At MGM Studios Backlot Tour, you can see how filmmakers create special-effect movies and television disasters.
A great show for you to take children to see is Playhouse Disney Live on Stage! While they are there, they can meet Bear in the Big Blue House, Stanley, and Rollie Pollie Ollie. Nothing makes a child happier than to see their favorite television friends sing and laugh with visitors and other Disney Channel Characters.
