Animal Kingdom includes real and imaginary animals, attractions, and live shows. Many tourists visit The Oasis, a lush area of streams, gardens, and waterfalls, to go back in time and encounter dinosaurs. They can also take an African Safari, be transported to southeast Asia, and come face-to-face with Disney characters in entertaining settings.
At Discovery Island, in the center, is the breathe-taking Tree of Life. It reaches fourteen stories high and represents the diversity of animal life through the detailed carvings of more than three hundred animal life forms. Deep inside the Tree of Life, is a theater which shows the 3-D, special effects adventure of "It's Tough to be a Bug". It is based off of the Disney/Pixar movie "A Bug's Life".
Devoted to the drama of the age of Dinosaurs is DinoLand. You enter it by walking under a fifty- foot tall brachiosaurus. This huge dinosaur makes many people crossing this unique bridge feel as if they are actually walking into the dinosaur age. Here at DinoLand, there is a thrilling ride DINOSAUR which blasts you back sixty-five million years ago to rescue a dinosaur. In this ride, there are many unexpected visits from very well created machine dinosaurs to create a scary effect. It is on many "Gotta Do" lists of the millions of tourists who come to DinoLand.
Nearby the thrilling Dinosaur ride is Dino Sue. Dino Sue is a replica of the most complete and best preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil ever discovered. Here at DinoLand, the Boneyard is an open-air playground and digging site where kids can explore their way through a maze of dinosaur skeletons and help unearth the bones of a woolly mammoth!
In DinoLand, Africa features a journey into one of the last wild sanctuaries of the earth. The Kilimanjaro Safaris expedition takes you on a chase through an African Savanna where hippos, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, and elephants roam freely. These begin in the modern-day town of Harambe.
After you exit the Safari truck, you can walk around the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. You can also observe a troop of gorillas and tropical birds in the naturalistic habitat. The other option is to take the Wildlife Express Train and go to Rafiki's Planet Watch where small animals can be seen and touched.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, costumed actors, storytellers, Disney characters, puppets, stage floats, and live animals entertain. Other people join Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy during Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade. It is a fun, family event!
