| The four basic kinds of extreme boarding are slope-style snowboarding, downhill, Wind snowboarding, and back country. Slope-style is when the boarders show skill in tricks. Downhill is when they attempt to finish the course in the shortest time period on a steep ski slope. | |||
| Wind snowboarding is the newest. it's idea comes from wind surfing. They added sails to their boards and the wind catches their sails and carries them up the hill. On a good ride they can go all the way up the moutant. All boarders must learn to deal with buried rocks and steep mountain cliffs and drop-offs. | |||
