Snowboarding is riding a board down a hill over snow.  you can go on the ski slopes or the snow parks.  Snowboarding is for armatures and professionals.
Professionals boarders need a high level level of skill to prevent injury.  They also get paid for their runs and tricks.  Armature boarding is not quite as difficult as professional, but they don't get [paid they do it simply for pleasure.  Professional boarding can also be called Extreme boarding.
The four basic kinds of extreme boarding are slope-style snowboarding, downhill, Wind snowboarding, and back country.  Slope-style is when the boarders show skill in tricks.  Downhill is when they attempt to finish the course in the shortest time period on a steep ski slope.
Wind snowboarding is the newest.  it's idea comes from wind surfing.  They added sails to their boards and the wind catches their sails and carries them up the hill.  On a good ride they can go all the way up the moutant.  All boarders must learn to deal with buried rocks and steep mountain cliffs and drop-offs.
