Pointe is exactly like doing ballet
but on the tips of your toes.
Pointe work is very, very hard. You must have a lot of strength in your legs, and ankles in order to do advanced, or even beginning Pointe work. |
| Many students do Pointe every week depending on your level, age, and years or months on Pointe determines how many Pointe classes you will have in a week. |

Pointe shoes are made like ballet shoes, except with a wood block in the toe. It allows the dancer to go up on the tips of her toes. | ![]() |

Because of the wood block in the toe the dancer must cushion her feet. |

The dancer may use a jelly like toe pad (top and bottom) |

Or they may use lamb's wool (middle) a more thicker toe pad. |
