Pointe is exactly like doing ballet but on the tips of your toes.

Pointe work is very, very hard.

You must have a lot of strength in your legs, and ankles in order to do advanced, or even beginning Pointe work.

Many students do Pointe every week depending on your level, age, and years or months on Pointe determines how many Pointe classes you will have in a week.

Pointe shoes are made like ballet shoes, except with a wood block in the toe. It allows the dancer to go up on the tips of her toes.

Because of the wood block in the toe the dancer must cushion her feet.

The dancer may use a jelly like toe pad (top and bottom)

Or they may use lamb's wool (middle) a more thicker toe pad.
