Food/Water bowls - You need one for each.  Stainless steel or heavy crockery something solid but easy to clean.  Plastic bowls are not recommended because they may cause staining of the facial hair.
Bed - Some thing soft, washable and big enough for your soon to be adult dog.  It is important to place the puppy’s bed in a quiet place so they can get some rest.
Crate - Provides a safe secure den for your dog.  A crate needs only to be big enough for the dog to stand up, turn around and lie down.  The crate should be large enough for your Maltese to stretch out.  Crates are made out of plastic or heavy welded steel wire.  Traveling in safer for your dog when it is in crate.
Collar/Leash - A thin, nylon, one-piece collar seems to work best for the Maltese.  Many of these collars have a small ring at one end to which a leash can be clipped.  Buy a leash that is durable and comfortable for you to handle.
Toys/Chewies - Small squeaky toys are great for a Maltese.  They like to play with the fuzzy, plush, soft toys.  Maltese are very inquisitive puppies and it is wise to have a good supply of toys.
I.D. Tag -  Inscribe the tag with your name and phone number.  There are two ways to permanently identify your dog.  The first is a tattoo placed on the inside of your dog’s thigh.  The second in a microchip that is inserted under the dog’s skin at the base of the neck.
