Shoes Golf
shoes are much like the spikes you use to play other sports like football,
baseball, and soccer.
Golf shoes have short metal spikes that dig into the ground to keep
you from slipping when you take your swing.
Having tennis shoes on while playing golf works too, but they must
have good treads otherwise you might slip when you swing.
This will probably result in you having a bad swing and the ball
will not go were you want it to go.

Golf Gloves Gloves are
worn to give you extra grip when you are swinging.
They help to give you better control of your shot.
These also help prevent blisters.
You get blisters when your hand rubs hard against the grips on the
clubs. Like golf shoes gloves
are not entirely essential but they are a good investment to keep you
blister free. |

The Ball The Golf Ball
is probably the most important piece of equipment In golf.
Golf balls weigh roughly 1.62 ounces and are 1.68 inches in
diameter. There are three ways a ball can be constructed.
One of these ways is a solid piece ball.
These balls are molded out of a hard synthetic material This type
of ball is very very durable so it is good for beginning golfers. This is
also the type of ball used at driving ranges.
The next type a ball is a two piece ball.
It is a rubber ball surrounded by a Surlyn cover.
This is a hard plastic substance made by Dupont company. This
ball is durable and gives the shooter good control and distance. The
final kind of ball is the three piece ball. This is a rubber ball
wrapped tightly with rubber bands. On the outside is a material called
Balata. These are for professionals because they break easy. |
