There are many different sticks. There are composite sticks and wooden sticks and shafts with a wooden blade. Composite sticks are very expensive. It costs around $150.00, which is a pretty expensive price for a stick. There are two curves to sticks, left and right. If you write with your right hand then you are probably a right handed curve, if you write with your left hand then you are probably a left handed curve. If you are a right handed curve then you hold your stick with your left hand on the top facing inward and your right hand halfway down the shaft facing outward. For a left handed curve is the exact opposite, you hold it with your right hand on top facing inward and your left hand halfway down the stick facing outward.
There are also sticks that are two pieces, a shaft and a blade. Shafts, as well as sticks have different flexes. There is a junior flex for younger people that aren't as strong, an intermediate flex for people that are in between, and a senior flex for people who are stronger. These sticks also have replicable blades. The blades go into the end of the shaft. The blades have curves that range from almost straight to very curved. If you're a righty and you look down from the top of your stick to the blade your curve should go to the left, and it is the opposite for lefty. These shafts cost anywhere from $50.00-$100.00. The blades cost anywhere from$10.00-$50.00. To choose a stick or shaft you need to determine what flex you need, how curved you want your blade, and a price you are willing to pay for the stick or shaft.
