Orlando Bloom is a wonderful role model in the acting world. Not only does he create great movies, he also takes amazing pictures! Orlando was born in Canterbury, Kentucky with a sister, Samantha. His mother was all of his inspiration, and inspired him to take part in their local festival. His mother believed in enjoying art and poetry very much. When Orlando was sixteen, he relocated himself in London and performed with the National Youth Theatre. It was two years after, he got a scholarship to study with British American Drama Academy. Here, he played the lead in " A walk in the Vienna Woods", and got an agent. This lead to small roles in British television. |

After this, Bloom enrolled at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. There, he acted in several plays such as Shakespeare's " Twelfth Night", and" Chekov's " Three Sisters". While he was still in school, Orlando was playing on a friends roof when he fell and broke his back! |

This injury almost paralyzed the young actor, but surgery let him walk out of the hospital on crutches. Him and his peers all tried out for a part in " The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy". Bloom naturally tried out for a smaller part only shown in the first movie, this character was named Faramir. When he met the director Peter Jackson he asked Bloom to read the part for Legolas Greenleaf. This was a much more prominent character who is featured in all three films. In a few weeks, Orlando got the call that he got the role. As he received this role, he graduated from the drama school .After performing in "The Lord Of The Rings", Bloom starred in various crowd pleasers such as " Black Hawk Down" ," The Last Samurai", and his most recent picture " Pirates Of The Caribbean". |
