The Samoyeds original name was Bjelkier. The Samoyeds were nomadic people who hunted and were reindeer herdsman. They used Bjelkier dogs to help them work. An English zoologist became founders of the dog at the end of the nineteenth century. This dog sometimes hunts, herds, and occasionally is a sled dog when demanded. It is one beautiful fluffy white dog.

Another name for the Samoyed is the Samoyed Kaya it weighs anywhere from 50-60 pounds. The Samoyeds height is 18-22 inches. There colors are pure white, white and biscuit, cream; outer coat silver tipped. Its coat is harsh, but not wiry, and straight, with thick soft, short undercoat. Its lifespan is 12 to 14 years. The litter size is 5 to 9 puppies.

Samoyeds are intelligent, alert, and affectionate. They love children. Their specials skills are being a herding dog, watchdog, sled dog, hunting dog, and a family pet. Its learning rate is high, obedience is not good, problem solving is very good, difficult to train, intractable when uninterested or command harshly.
