DIVISION BREAKDOWNS       

                   The AFC is made up of four divisions. The north, south, east, and west divisions. In the AFC, there are sixteen teams, four in each division. In the north division, there are, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cleveland Browns. The south division is made up of the Jaguars, the Titans, the Texans, and the Colts. The east division contains the Bills, the Patriots, the Jets, and the Dolphins. Finally, the west division contains the Broncos, the Raiders, the Chiefs, and the Chargers.

          TOP PLAYERS IN THE AFC

             Some Runningbacks in the AFC that lead the league are Duce Staley of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ladanian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers, and Priest Holmes of the Kansas City Chiefs. The top QB's in the AFC are Peyton Manning of the colts, Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers, and Tom Brady of the Patriots.

     

       THETHE HISTORY OF THE AFC

           Some historic players of the AFC and teams of the AFC are Franco Harris, who is famous for the immaculate reception, of the 1970's Pittsburgh Steelers. Another historic team of the AFC is the Oakland Raiders of the 1970's led by coach John Madden used to always make the playoffs. Another great historic team of the AFC is the 1990's Buffalo Bills. Players like Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and Bruce Smith, were just some of the reasons why this team was so successful. Nowadays, the best dynasty in the NFL is the New England Patriots. Led by star quarterback, Tom Brady, and running back, Corey Dillon, had a twenty-one game win streak before they were beaten by the Pittsburgh Steelers in October.

                  THTHE PRO BOWL

            After every year, top players of the AFC, around three or four from each team, combine to make an All-Star team in the pro bowl. This event takes place in Honolulu, Hawii. Stats of the players are looked at by league officials and fans, and then are voted on to go to the pro bowl. Running backs, quarterbacks,  wide receivers, and lineman and tight ends from all around the league combine to make an All- Star team to play the NFC allstars in which normally a great game.

                                                                                                           

                        PLAYOFFS

            The playoffs consist of six teams. Four division winners, and two wild cards. In the first round, the division winners with lower records are to play the two wildcard teams. The two division winners with better records are to have a bye weeks and play the winner of the wild card round. Then after that they have a AFC championship game where winners of the division week will play each other, the winner of this game will go to the Super Bowl. Teams that look like they will make the playoffs this year are the Jets, Steelers, Patriots, Chargers, and the Colts.
