British Columbia is a beautiful place. It has an area three hundred and sixty five thousand two hundred and fifty five square miles, or nine hundred forty six thousand and eleven square kilometers. The capital is Victoria and the population is three million twenty nine thousand. The products they sell most of are lumber, paper, wood products, fish, fruit, beef, processed foods, copper, zinc, lead, ore, oil, and natural gas. British Columbia entered the Dominion of Canada on July 20th, 1871. The provincial Motto is, "Splendor without diminishment." The bird is Steller's jay. And the flower is the Pacific Dogwood. The government is a parliamentary system with a one-house legislature of fifty seven members who are popularly elected by district for terms of five years. Head of government is the majority party leader.
