Nicholas Berkeley Mason was born on January 27, 1944 in Downshire Hill, Birmingham.

While attending college he met Roger Waters and Rick Wright.  Nick Mason is the drummer and percussionist in Pink Floyd and he is the only member of the band that has been present all the way through Pink Floyd’s entire career.

Nick has played on every Pink Floyd album and participated in a lot of their stage shows.  However, Nick has hardly ever contributed to composing any songs for Pink Floyd.

Nick was the last band member to do a solo project, Nick Mason’s Fictitious Sports in 1981.  Despite all of the trouble about the Pink Floyd name, Roger Waters and Nick Mason appear to be on good terms today.

Besides playing for Pink Floyd, one of Nick’s hobbies is cars.  Among some of the many cars that he owns, and races are the Ferrari and the Maserati.
