The quarterback is one of the most vital positions on the offence. Your first job of of being quarterback is to get the ball from the center and to hand it off to the running back. Your second option is to get the ball from the center and throw it to one of his receivers. And your third option is to run the ball and try to gain as many yards as possible. |

Receiver is also a very vital position on the offense. He can do one of two things. First he can go out for a pass and try to gain as many yards as possible. Or block for a sweep or run. The receivers are some of the fastest people on the team. |

Running backs vary from being the strongest and fastest players on the team. They can block for different running backs or they can take the hand off and try to go up field. Or they can even go out for a pass. |

Line backers are a big part of the defense. They are responsible for stopping run plays and pass plays. They have to be fast enough to cover receivers, and strong enough to stop the ball carriers The linebackers stand up behind the defensive line. During the play they can be found all over the field. They can blitz or be in pass coverage. To stop the rushers the linebackers shuffle from side to side so the running back doesn't get through the hole. The linebacker must be ready to react the moment the ball is snapped. |

The defensive line goes one on one with the offense at the line of scrimmage. Defensive linemen must push through the blocker to to tackle running backs. On passing plays, they try to sack the quarterback. The defensive line is made up of two defensive ends and two defensive tackles. |

Offensive linemen block defenders to help the other offensive players to move the ball. They protect the quarterback so he has as much time as possible to get the ball to a teammate and try to make room for the ball carriers to run. The offensive linemen use a three point stance. After putting a hand down, or getting set, a linemen cannot move until the ball is snapped. |
