Food

Your beagle should have the right diet. Don't give a thought to variety. The basic diet consists of dry form, either meal or Kibble form. The food is inexpensive, high satisfactory, and is easily found in stores everywhere. They are sold in containers of 5 pounds to 50 pounds. Larger amounts cost less per pound. You should chose the better known brand. Do not choose any food that is less than 25% in protein. Make sure the protein is from both animal and vegetable sources. The good dog foods have meat meal, fish meal, liver, and such protein from alfalfa, soy-beans, and some dried milk products. You should make sure that there is high levels of vitamin A and D. You shouldn't worry about carbohydrates and mineral levels. You should feed it to your beagle as the manufacturer directs. Once you've started a schedule with your dog, stick with it. If you switch food it will give you and your beagle trouble.

Exercising

Your beagle should get plenty of exercise so he can stay strong and healthy. You can take him for a walk, or you can even run with him. You could chase him around the house until he gets tired. Another good thing you could do is play with him, and buy him toys. This will make your beagle happy if he is fit.

Playing

You and your dog will become closer if you play with him. You can take walks on the trail, buy him toys, and chase him around the yard until he gets tired. If you buy toys for your dog he will like you more than he already does.

Grooming

You should hardly ever bathe a beagle, unless he is a house pet. Commercial shampoos can be purchased at pet shops or dog supply houses. Sometimes you can use dry shampoo. You spread it all over your beagle into the coat and then you wipe it with a towel. It makes them smell nice and clean. You can clean their ears by wiping them with a cotton ball dipped in hydrogen peroxide. You can also clip their nails. You should start clipping them when they are puppies. To keep your dogs coat nice and shiny, you should brush them with a hand brush everyday. Scaling and cleaning a dog's teeth of one method of preventing tartar accumulation. Dogs can chew on bone (Nylabone) to help. The last thing you can use on your dog is conditioner spray and it will keep your dog smelling good.
