Walt Disney was born December 5, 1903 to Elias and Flora Call Disney.  He had three brothers: Herbert, Raymond, and Roy Disney, and one sister, Ruth Flora.  He grew up on a farm.
			When he was 16, he fought in World War I by lying about his age and forging his parents signatures.  He drove an ambulance.  After the war, he got his first job at Pesmen - Rubin, but was laid off.  He and a man named Ub Iwerks worked together on Walt's next job.  They did mostly cartoons for commercials.  Disney sold some cartoons he called Laugh - O - Grams to Newman Theater.  He went bankrupt, but eventually went to Hollywood.  He created the Alice and Wonderland Comedy series which were animated by Ub Iwerks and Walt's brother Roy.
Disney got married in 1925 to Lillian Bounds.  His next creation was a mouse who Disney thought should be named Mortimer, but he changed to Mickey.  The first Mickey cartoon was "Steamboat Willie."  It was Disney's first cartoon with sound.  Disney also did the first Mickey Mouse voice.  His first daughter, Diane, was born in 1933.
					Disney's first movie, Snow White, came out in 1937 and got seven Oscars.  The same year, he adopted another daughter, Sharon Mae.  From 1940 - 1953, Pinocchio, Bambi, Cinderella, Alice and Wonderland, and Peter Pan had all come out.  In 1954, Disney's eldest daughter, Diane, got married to Ron Miller.  In 1955 Disneyland in Anaheim, California opened.
		Disney began to buy Swampland in Florida for another park he was going to call EPCOT.  EPCOT stood for Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow.  On November 2nd, 1966, Walt Disney was diagnosed with lung cancer due to smoking too much.  He died one month later.  In 1971, Roy Disney, Walt's brother opened Walt Disney World around Orlando, Florida.
