The St. Lucie  Mets are located in the southern part of Florida.  People usually fly into West Palm Beach or Miami to get to Port St. Lucie.  It's very close to Miami.  They are at the Single A level.  The St. Lucie Mets play at the Big League Mets Spring Training field.  That's also right next to a big complex with about eight fields for the Gulf Coast league players to play at.  Its also a Training rehab rot the Major Leaguers who are currently hurt and trying to get back to playing. They use the backfields to workout on and also use the indoor batting cages to work on.  Every October an Instructional League is held at the complex in St. Lucie. The players that just have been drafted usually go there. The St. Lucie team draws a pretty good crowd on a average day to day basis.  In 2003 they were the Florida State League champions.  The team is located right on the beach and have really nice weather.  There is a whole lot more to see besides the single A team.  There is also another team and a beach in St. Lucie.  If a player is ready they usually move them up to the double A level.  a lot of the teams in the Florida State league are very close to St. Lucie.
