The Norfolk Tides are located in Norfolk Virginia right off of Virginia Beach .  They play at the triple A level.  Triple a is the level right below the Major League level.  They play in a very wide spread area.  A lot of minor league teams play in a particular area but in triple a its a little more spread out. Some players will okay there whole career in the minor leagues. They have a very nice stadium.  The name of the stadium is called Harbor Park.  a lot of tourist that are visiting Virginia Beach will come and see the tides play.  They draw a pretty good crowd night in a night out. There also one of the few minor league teams to have a mascot.  Some Major Leaguers that are battling injuries will come an play a few games here and there for the Tides.  Usually this doesn't last very long.  Maybe a few weeks.  Some players that play for the Tides used to play for the Major Leagues but are not good enough any more.  Players down there can be very young and some can be as old as even forty.  Some of the young players have been waiting for a chance to play for the big leagues for a long time.  A trade to another team mat get them to the next level.
