When you come to tryouts don’t be chewing gum or eating candy. Dress neat and conservatively. Don’t have on any jewelry. Be loud and have a lot of enthusiasium. Come showing that you should be on the squad. Make sure you know your cheer and dance. Try to be completely stretched.
The judges look for neatness. You should pull your hair back into a tight ponytail with a hair tie or a hair clip. Make sure your hair does not get in your way. Do not wear a lot of makeup. Wear as little makeup as necessary. Try to wear your school colors if you are aloud. If you are not wearing your school colors dress conservatively.

During tryouts you will be asked to show your cheer and dance that you were taught. Next you will be required to show your toe touch. If you can tumble make sure to do that because you can score higher points for that.

Judges look for sharpness in both you cheer and dance. They also judge you on how loud you are. Do not scream. Judges will take off points for screaming. Make sure you have a big smile on your face, show your confidence, and make sure to show your crowd appeal. Show a lot of enthusiasium. The judges want you to show that you deserve to be on the squad. Show off your flexibility. Do kicks, jumps, and flips

Tryouts are usually on day long for about 4 hours. You have three days before to learn your cheer and dance and to just practice everything that you will need. After tryouts the people who made the squad are announced.

There are usually two through three judges. One judge looks at how well you know your cheer and dance. The other judge looks at your smile and your confidence. The other judge looks at your motions and how sharp you are.
