The Yorkshire Terrier is a highly energetic dog that is always looking for adventure and getting into trouble. They are brave, loyal, clever, and affecionate with their master. Yorkies are aggressive with strangers witch makes them good watch dogs. These dogs have black and tan, fine, silky coats. Yorkies are 6-7 inches tall and weigh 7 pounds. They like to bark and can be difficult to hours train. Yorkshire terriers live for about 12-15 years.

 

 

 

A Scottish terrier also known as a scottie is a brave and alert dog. They are protective and loving but can also be moody and snappish as an adult. The coat of a scottie is coarse and wiry and as hard as bristles. Their color can be black, wheaton, or brindle, but they need regular brushing because they shed often. They Scottie’s life expectancy is 12-15 years and they are good apartment dogs.

 

The Australian terrier (Aussie) is a tough little dog that is full of courage. Aussies are loyal dogs that have boundless energy. These dogs are friendly even with other dogs, but not with strangers witch makes them good guard dogs. Aussies can grow to be 9-11 inches tall and weigh 9-14 pounds. Their coat is rough textured and waterproof. They can be solid red, sandy, dark, or silvery blue with tan markings. An aussies long shaggy coat doesn’t shed. These dogs are good apartment dogs and can live 15 or more years.

The Jack Russel terrier is a devoted an loving, obedient, and fearless dog. These dogs are very intelligent and willful. Although Jack Russels are good with children they aren’t good with other dogs. Jack Russels are known to kill or be killed in dog fights. These dogs are always 51% white with reddish black, tan, or brown markings. They can have a rough or smooth coat, but always have a fuzzy face. Jack Russels stand at 10-12 inches high and weigh 14-18 pounds. Even though these dogs are only about 1 foot tall they can jump up to five feet in the air. Jack Russels are adaptable to small yards but they like to dig and bark. This breed can live for 15 or more years.

 

 

The West highland terrier also known as a Westie is a little dog with an all white coat. Their short-haired double coat is harsh and straight and doesn’t shed. The Westie stands at about 9-12 inches and weighs 15-25 ponds. The dogs are lively. Robust, and spunky. They are friendly with behaved children and are excellent watch dogs. But Westies can be hard to train and they like to dig and bark. Westies are suitable to live in a town, city, or country.
