History

From the beginning of time Golden Retrievers have been to know how to hunt. In the sixteen century dogs were trained to deliver the "bird to hand". This also in the 1800's is a good hunting dog. The history of this dog is to hunt. People say that Golden Retrieves have a strong hunting technique and having a good nose. This breed of dogs is found to settle in Newfoundland. By 1885 the retriever was considered the kings of sporting dogs. There was a club for golden retrievers in 1962 to 1964. So mostly Golden Retrievers where here from the beginning of time.

 

Physical Description

Golden Retrievers is a symmetrical, powerful, active dog. This dog is also a very good hunting dog. Their coats are dense and water repellent. The color is a gold and cream and it comes in varying shades. There head is broad in skull and their foreface is deep and wide. The Golden Retrievers eyes are medium size with dark colors. The teeth are scissor sharp. The nose is black or brown and fading in cold weather and it turns lighter or pink. Their ears are short with front edge attached. The size of the golden retriever for males is 23-24 inches in height and the females are 21 1/2 to 22 1/2 inches. The weight of the dog for males is 65-70 pounds for the female it is 55-65 pounds.  Health 

Your vet is the most important person in your dogs life. You should have a first aid kit ready just an cause of an emergencies. In the first aid there should be gauze, bandages, and tape. You should also keep ointment, a pair of tweezers, and medicated powder. If your dog  has a temperature between 101-102.5 take them to the vet. If your dog is bleeding put pressure every 15-20 minutes. There are a couple of things you have to watch out for. If you feed your dog chocolate to your dog they would probably die. There are many different diseases but try to keep your dog as healthy as possible. 
Breeding

Breeding  is the same thing for all dogs. First  the most important thing is to make sure that you are ready for a litter of puppies. Then you have to make sure that your female dog is up to code on all of her shots and is very healthy. Then you have to find a male dog to breed with her. You shouldn't breed you dog until she is about 15-18 months. But you should  know that the litter of puppies for golden retrievers is about 8-9 puppies or more. Studs could run around $300-500. You should get a box with blankets or newspaper to get ready for the puppies to be born. When the puppies are born let them be with their mother. Make sure that the puppies and the mother is as comfortable as possible. After 6-8 weeks you can go and get the puppies shot and give them to a new owner if  you would like. Make sure you enjoy the time you have with you puppies.

     

    

Feeding/Grooming

With feeding your dog or puppy its the same form all puppies. You have to get the youngest brand of dog food for the puppy. It is very important that your puppy does not miss a meal. That's because your puppy needs to gain some weight. Your adult should have at least 2-4 meals a day.  But remember not to over feed your dog. With grooming your dog you could do it yourself or have a groomer do it for you. For summer you could shave your dog and in the winter you could keep the hair to keep the dog warm. You should comb your dog at least 2 times a week. If you bathe your dog be sure that the you don't get soap in the dogs ears or eyes. Take a damp cloth and run your finger through their ear gently. If you want your dog to look good then I think you should groom your dog and make them look good. 

Exercise/Training

Exercise is very important for any dog. You can do all sorts of things with your dog. For example you could walk your dog, play catch, and dog to a dog park. By exercising your dog they will be in shape and have fun with it. You could even enter your dog in jumping and running contest. You could take them to a dog park and let them run with the other dogs. It keeps them in shape and they have a good time. For training your dog you need to work with your dog and try to teach them. If your dog does something good, reward them with a treat and say Good Job.  Don't let your dog take control over you.  You are the owner.  But remember, the most important thing is to have fun with it!
