The Curse

		The Curse was started when the Boston Redsox won their last World Series, 86 years ago. Is the Curse still upon the Redsox after they won the World Series?
		The Curse is no more for the Redsox. After the Boston Redsox won the prestigious World Series over the Cardinals the ended. When the Yankees lost four straight games it seemed that the Curse was over, or was it. The Boston Redsox still had to beat the team with the best record in the league, the Cardinals. The Cards were an extremely hard team to play against, but it was a little easier because Roger Clemens lost the All-Star game giving the home field advantage to the Redsox. So the Redsox played their first two games at Fenway Park. Slowly but surely the St. Louis Cardinals were fading the series after they lost both of those games. The next two games would be held at the Cards home, but they would lose their first game, and it seemed hopeless. The Redsox had tremendous momentum after beating the New York Yankees in four straight games and beating the Cards in three straight and trying for a fourth. The Redsox beat the Cards in the last game and made history by coming back from a three zero deficit and beating the Yankees in four straight games. Then by sweeping the Cardinals and having a total of eight wins in a row to make the history books of sports.
		By beating the Yankees they broke the Curse and made history, but how did they do it? They let the Yankee hitters come to the batters box the Redsox got them out and told them to sit down. So the Redsox pitchers just did their job description and got the Yankee hitters out, and let the Boston Redsox hitters do the rest with their bats.Pedro Martinez was pretty much clabbered by the New York Yankee hitters, but the Redsox have an amazing bullpen so they cleaned up what was supposed to be the Yankees Cream of the Crop line up. With Keith Foulke as closer for the Redsox they almost always had a guarantee win. Also the starters had a big part in the victories over the Yanks. Such as Curt Schilling with his bad ankle he sill managed to throw the baseball with brilliants. The Redsox batters had a huge role in beating the Yankees. David Ortiz hitting in the game winning run in three of the four games. Johnny Damon was key in game seven with his grand slam and six runs batted in. Even though Manny Ramirez didn’t have a single RBI he came up big in the World Series.
		The Astros were red hot during the series with the Cards, but they weren’t able to go the whole nine yards to beat the Cards, but they actually did get they nine, but not for themselves but for the Boston Redsox. When the Astros staring pitcher, Roger Clemens lost in the All Star Game for the National League they gave the home advantage to the American League team in the World Series. So the Astros did help the Redsox in the World Series.
		The Cards some how broke apart when they played the Redsox. First of all they weren’t able to hit the pitchers from the Redsox, and they weren’t able to get the Boston Redsox hitters out. The Cards just didn’t have the right chemistry to beat a true American League team, and that’s how they ended up on bottom and the Boston Redsox on the top of the baseball world.
