| Forbes Field was the first main field for the
Pittsburgh Pirates. It was a
rectangular field. It was
also placed right next to the Allegheny River.
It was a field that many people can still remember. It was basically in the same area as Heinz Field and PNC
Park. It was a field that had
a huge amount of games played on it.
We were really good, and there were a number of games that we did

Three Rivers Stadium was a very popular playing
field. It was home to the
Pirates and the Steelers for a number of years.
It was imploded on February 11, 2000.
It was around for thirty-one years.
It was very sad for the people and the players.
Even though the stadium is gone, the new fields can have new
possibilities. |

| The trolley is a very important travel system in Pittsburgh. It was even a huge technical advancement. The trolley line connects the city to all of the suburbs. It allows people who can’t afford a car, or they don’t want to waste the gas in their vehicles to have a job in the city. It also has pretty good rates, too. They are still running today, and it makes travel a lot easier. |  |

The three rivers are an identifier of Pittsburgh.
They go right down through the middle of the city.
The Allegheny and the Monongahela form into the Ohio River.
The Allegheny is on the side with the two stadiums, and the
Monongahela is on the side with the Incline.
The Monongahela is also the only river other than the Nile that
flows north. They also allow
us to import goods. They are
absolutely essential to most things about our city that makes it great. |

| Due to all of the rivers in Pittsburgh, we need a lot
of bridges. They play a vital
rule in what goes on everyday. Pittsburgh
has also been known as the city of bridges.
We use them to travel to other parts of the city, and to people’s
homes. There are many types
of bridges here too. We have
suspension, arch, and many more. The
bridges are very important to the city and to the people of our city. |

Point State Park is a quiet place to escape.
In the old days it was a fort.
It was known as Fort Duquesne, and Fort Pitt.
It existed during the time of the French and Indian War.
After the war it turned into a barren area.
Then, they built houses on the area.
Then the steel mills popped up.
They were followed by what it is recognized by today, the park.
Now it is recognized by the fountain.
