Mario

Then

Mario is one of the most recognizable Nintendo characters to date. Over the years, Mario has had many roles as a video game character, from being paper thin, to a doctor, to a villain, Mario has done it all. His Game Boy and arcade games have been platformers, while his 3-D adventures have been a combination of adventure and platform. Mario is best known for basically creating digital 3-D in Super Mario 64. A revival of this game was released for the Nintendo DS called Super Mario 64 DS.

Now

Luigi

Luigi is Mario's younger brother. They are good friends. Luigi usually isn't as important as Mario in most video games, but he doesn't seem to mind. His biggest role as a playable character was in Luigi's Mansion when Luigi had to free Mario from King Boo. Luigi has also had roles where he was just as important as other characters, such as the Mario Kart series and the Super Smash Brothers series.

DK

Then The letters "DK" stand for this character's name, Donkey Kong. DK hasn't been in as many games as Mario, but he is just as old. Both of their first appearances were both in the Donkey Kong Arcade in 1981. DK has been a platformer but has recently released a one-of-a-kind game called Donkey Konga. It comes with a special bongo-like controller made especially for that game. In the game, you can slap the bongos and clap along to 33 songs in three difficulty modes. It is sure that DK will be a fresh character for years to come.

Now

Yoshi

Yoshi is Mario's lifelong friend dinosaur. Yoshi has been friends since their baby years. Yoshis seem to have ever hungry stomachs. They can swallow almost anything with their long and sticky tongs and turn it into an egg that you con throw as a projectile. Yoshi's color is traditionally a shade of deep green, but they can be red, blue, orange, yellow, and even purple. Yoshi doesn't have many solo games but is happy to be a supporting character. Yoshi is certainly a unique character.

Samus

Then Samus is another great example of a classic Nintendo character. Her (yes, Samus is a girl) history is a sad one. Her parents were killed by a group of bandits called the Space Pirates. Her orange power suit is powered up by a highly evolved species called the Chuzo. Her older games have been platformers, while her newer Gamecube games are intense sci-fi shooters. If you want an intense game to keep you on your toes, Samus is a great way to go.
Now

Bowser

Bowser is normally the bad guy in Mario games, but lately has been used for humor the being the villan. He is an overgrown koopa with a spiky shell. He is able to breathe fire to attack anyone in front of him and is a real problem if you get hit. If you fight him in the game, be ready for a long and difficult battle.
