The Doberman Pincher was founded by Herr Louis Dobermann. It was traced back to only the 1880's. It is very popular in both show dogs and family dogs. It was founded in Apolda, Thuringig, Germany. The Doberman was made for guarding Herr Louis Dobermann and his collections. | |

The Doberman was made to be a black, powerful, strong, and built. Dobermann was hoping that if he bred the community dogs (the ones that he wanted) that he would get a black, large sized alert dog. They would not be shy or too aggressive. They were meant to be obedient. | |

The German Standard, the British Standard, and the American Standard. The German Standard is that the Doberman should be muscular and powerful, they shouldn't be Greyhound-like but not clumsy and chubby. It should look like it is swift, has power, and endurance. They should have a good temperament. | |

Males should be 21.6-25.6 inches at the withers and females should be 18.9-21.6 inches at the withers. It should be 27.5 inches long. Tail must be docked. Its bite must be powerful and closes right and ears must be cropped. The American standard is that medium sized and square body. Males are 26 - 28 inches at the withers and females are 24 - 26 inches at the withers. | |

The British standard is that the ears are small and most likely cropped. The body should be square. Males are usually 27 inches and females 25 1/2. The dew claws on the feet should be removed. They generally weight about 66-88 lbs. Their life span is 10-12 years. They can do any job that any dog can do. Their best traits are locality and obedience. By nature the Doberman is a peaceful dog. It is protective and is not dangerous or vicious. | |

is only aggressive if it is attacked or is told to attack.
It is very intelligent and will do anything to protect its owner.
They have to be trained properly, so they know what is expected of
them.. They are active and eager. They
need a lot of exercise every day. They
are brainy and strong willed therefore, they won't back down from
anything. He will be suspicious when strangers are around.

You have to ask about temperament and about health problems. You decide if you want a male or a female, show dog or companion you would have to decide many things. Feeding requirements are the same as any other dog/puppy. They need the right kind of food. Puppies especially need good nutrients and nutrition. Breeders usually start their puppies on a dog food and you're supposed to keep feeding them that food but some people don't. | |

are a lot medical problems that Dobermans have. Two of them are hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia.
There are different colors of Doberman Pinchers.
There are black and rust, brown and rust, blue and rust and fawn. |

is usually seen in male dogs when the dog eats a lot and then either
exercised after of drink large amounts right after eating. The dogs are between one and seven years of age.
A way to prevent bloat is by crating the dog.
This keeps it calm. Cervical
vertebral instability is another medical problem.
It is when the cervical vertebrae is deformed.
The pressure would make the dog stumble or bump into things.
To not have this happen, just avoid high protein diets. |
