The Alps

                                         Slovenia is a country surrounded by huge mountains.  Known as the Alps.  The  highest point in Slovenia is known as mount Triglav.  Which is in the Alps, it stands at 9,393 feet.  Triglav in Slovenian means three head, which is what it looks like making it a perfect name.  It is a spectacular thing to see.

Parks and Forests

            Slovenia Has many large forests.  The plants here are amazing and every were you can find them.  Trees and forests here are hundreds of years old and seem like they have been untouched.  This is because most forests are in fact untouched.  Also partly because logging is very strict there so many forests are not destroyed.  Slovenia has many parks and big gardens to enjoy.  These parks are all around the country.

Rivers and Water Falls

            The country has tones of water falls and rivers.  It has so many waterfalls because when the snow melts in the Alps all of the water comes down into the valleys, forming lots of waterfalls and filling up dry rivers.

Mountain Climbing and Hiking

    

            Mountain climbing and hiking are such a big thing in Slovenia, because it has so many mountains.  Slovenia has miles and miles of marked trails.  You can hike smaller trails for the less experienced and long rocky ones for the experienced hikers.  Slovenia is a great for mountain climbing too.  It has huge cliffs and the enormous Alps for those brave enough to climb them.  Slovenia is ideal for these activities.

Postojna Caves

            Postojna Caves is made up of 18 miles of caves.  Millions of years ago the river above the caves has dropped water down to the caves below.  This forms huge stalagmites that hang from the ceilings and stalactites that shoot up from the floor.  Millions have been inside this huge cave all from around the world.

Skiing

           Slovenia has many ski resorts.  One ski resort is located on Mount Karin.  Making it the highest ski center in Slovenia.  Here skiing starts in December and lasts to about May.  The resorts are never very crowded because they are so big and there a many resorts not just one.  You can also do other activities like sleding and taking ski tours.  Slovenia has much to offer for skiers or people who like the snow.
