CAEL SANDERSON (June 20th, 1979).  This 25 year old from Salt Lake City, Utah has accoplished many things in the sport of wrestling.  Cael and his two brothers Cole and Cody grew up on wrestling, they graduated from Wasatch Heber High School with decent grades, an average of 3.2 between them.  Cael went on to Iowa State along with his brothers.  As an 185 pounder Cael went on to win four NCAA championships, one of the feww people to win in their freshman year threw their senior year.  He graduated with a collage record of 159-0 a perfect record.
Kurt angle- (December 9th 1968)  This amazing athlete strait from our home town Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania went to Mt. Lebonan High School as a young man.  But during his sophmore year a tragety struck this athletes life.  Kurts father a construction worker fell off of a crane and landed on his head shatering his scull, he died two days later in the hospital.  Kurt describes it as a pain that will burn with him forever but he uses it as a motivation.  The 6ft. 2in. 220lb athlete went to Clarion University in 1985.  In 1991 he had a great season winning 33 consecutive matches but he injured his knee 1 month before NCAA's.  He decided to wrestle anyway despite chance of greater injury. He placed second which was a dissapointment to the young star.  In 1992 he took a 26-0 record into the NCAA's and he defeated the 275 lb Sylvester Terkay even though Kurt only weighed 200lbs,  for his second NCAA title.  He graduated Clarion with a combined record of 116-10-2.  In 1996 he got a chance to wrestle on the Olympic Wrestling Team with his hero Bruce Baumgartner.  A quote by Kurt is "nothing will ever compare to winning the Olympic gold medal in the toughest sport in the world.
Bruce Baumgartner- Although not much is known about Baumgartner's high school carrer we do know that he graduated with a collage record of 134-12 with 72 pins.  He won his first gold metal in 1984 in the Olympics.  He was a national freestyle champion from 1980- 1996 that s 16 consecutive years!  In 1980 he was the NCAA runner- up.  In 1981 he was the world champion.  IN 1982 he became NCAA champion.  In 1984 he won olympic gold, as well as in 1992.  In 1993 and 1995 he was world champion again.  In 1996 he was on the same olympic team as kurt angle.  He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2002.  He now is a motivational speaker and runs a camp at Slippery Rock University.  He holds many U.S. records including most loympic medals, most world championship medals, and most national titles.
Ken Chertow- There isn't much to say about Ken's high school carrer, but his collage carrer is a different story.  Ken went to Penn State University, while attending school there he won 3 NCAA titles, 2 Junior National titles, 2 Junior World Titles, and was a 3 time academic All- American.  He graduated Penn State with a 3.6 G.P.A.  Ken runs numerous gold medal winning camps and has been inducted into the Midlands Hall of Fame.
Rulon Gardner-(August 16, 1971)- Rulon grew up in Afton, Wyoming a basic farm boy.  He wrestled threw grade school but had no huge accomplishments.  He went to Wyoming State High School and in 1989 he won the high school championships.  At 6' 2" 285 lbs Rulon went on to acheive great things.  He got 5th place in the Greeco Roman World Championships and took the gold in the Sydney Olympics.  In 2001 he went on to win Male Wrestler of the Year.
John Smith -(August 9, 1965)  You could say that the best was saved for last, John Smith is said to be one of the best wrestlers in the world.  He has a combined record of 121-19-3, with 2 NCAA golds, 4 time NCAA All-American, 2 olympic freestlye golds, and 5 world championship golds.  He also has a 90 match winning streak and has been inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.
Although there are many great wrestlers in the world these 6 stand out greatly.  As you can see from there accomplishments they deserve the title of Most Outstanding Wrestlers.
