Peter Criss is the drummer and vocals on some songs in KISS. Peter Criss was born George Peter Criscuola on December 20, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. Elvis was one of his first heroes. One of his favorite memories was Christmas when he got his first drum set. Drumming legend Gene Krupa gave him free lessons everyday. In 1972, Peter placed an ad in the Classified section of Rolling Stone as a drummer willing to do anything and he meant it. Paul and Gene called him and he became the drummer of the band that would become KISS.
Some of the great songs he co-wrote are "Dirty Livin'" from Dynasty, "Hooligan" from Love Gun, "Baby Driver" from Rock and Roll Over, and "Beth" from the Destroyer album. Peter Criss left the band in 1980 and later returned to the band in 1996 for the release of Psycho Circus and a Reunion Tour.
Then, he left again in 2001 and is currently not in KISS. He is currently working on a solo album while the current KISS is touring.
