Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan is an amazing athlete, with a unique combination of grace and talent. he was born on February 17, 1963. Jordan is 6 foot 6 and weighs 216 pounds. In 1984 he went to college in North Carolina. Jordan always wore his University Bulls uniform for good luck. Michael left North Carolina his junior year season and was drafted third overall by the Chicago Bulls. In 1984-85 Jordan was named rookie of the year and won the rookie of the year award. During the 1996-97 season, Jordan returned after injuring himself. Jordan announced his retirement before the 1993-94 season. He spent a year playing minor league baseball. He came back to the NBA in the late 1994-95 season.
Shaquille O'Neil
Shaquille O'Neil, also known as Shaq was born on March 6, 1972. He is 7 foot 1, and is 340 pounds. Shaq went to college at Louisiana State in 1993. He now plays center for the Miami Heat. he was a first round selection of the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA Draft. Shaq has been named to the All-Star team in eight of his nine seasons in the NBA. He became the first player in the NBA history to be named the NBA's player of the week after his first week of his career. Shaq was also named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history and was the youngest player to earn the honor. During the 2000-01 playoffs, Shaq started all of the Lakers 16 games, and was named NBA finals MVP for the second consecutive season.
Tracy McGrady
Tracy McGrady was born on May 24, 1979. He is 6 foot 8 and is 210 pounds. While he was in high school he went to Mount Zion Christian Academy High school. Before the NBA, Tracy was chosen as the USA Today Player-of-the-Year as the top high school player in the U.S. After high school he played 64 games during his rookie campaign with Toronto in 1997-98. In 1990-00 he finished fifth for the NBA's Most Improved Player Award. During the 2000-01 season he played and started in 77 games for Orlando. In 2002-03 Tracy was named to the All-NBA First team and was in the NBA Scoring Champion. He also finished fourth in voting for NBA MVP. Tracy played guard for the Magic, and now plays for the Houston Rockets.
Alan Iverson
Alan Iverson was born on June 7, 1975. He is 6 feet tall and is 165 pounds. He went to college at Georgetown. In 1996-97 Iverson established a premier NBA backcourt man, and won Rookie of the month honors in November. Iverson led the Sixers with 23 to 5. Alan led the Sixers in scoring and was named to the 1998-99 All-NBA First team. Alan played as a starter in the 2000 NBA All-Star game. He finished 7th in the AT&T Shootout. In 2000-01 Iverson was named the winner of the Maurice Pod doff Trophy as the NBA's MVP. He was the first player since Michael Jordan to average more than 30 points per game. In 2001-02 Iverson missed 22 game due to injury. In 2002-03 he was named to the U.S. Men's senior National Team as announced by USA Basketball, and played all 82 games for the first time in his career. Alan now plays guard for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant was born on August 23, 1978. He is 6 foot 6, and 220 pounds. Kobe is the son of former NBA player Joe "Jellybean" Bryant. As a child he spent 8 years living in Italy and is fluent in Italian. Kobe Bryant was a four-year starter in his last three years of high school. He also led his high school team to a 77-13 record in his last three seasons. In 1996-97 playing as a shooting guard , point guard, and small forward in 71 games as a rookie, including six starts. then in the 1997-98 season he scored 25 points and 3 assists in a 102-98 win over the Utah Jazz. In 2000-01 Kobe was ranked 4th among league leaders in scoring. Bryant appeared in a career-high 80 games. He now plays guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Charles Barkley
Charles Barkley was born on February 20, 1963 in Leeds, Alabama. He went to college at Auburn. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1984. Then Charles was traded to the Phoenix Suns in 1992, after that he was traded once again in 1996 to the Houston Rockets. Charles is 6 foot 6 and is 252 pounds. The are four players in the history of the NBA who complied at least 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists. Barkley doesn't really play one position. He plays everything. He's a dominant rebounder, a dominant defensive player, a three-point shooter, a dribbler and a playmaker. Charles now plays mostly all positions for the Suns.
