Alaskan Malamutes came from Alaska, before it belonged to the United States territory. They usually live to be up to 12 to 14 years old. Alaskan malamutes coats are very thick because it keeps them warm in the winter and when they're doing the race. There coats are light gray to black sable, and red with white markings or all white. The males usually grow up to be 25 inches and 85 pounds and the females grow up to be 23 inches and weigh 75 pounds. These type of dogs are very good with children . They can get along with other dogs that are the same sex but usually bad with cats and small animals.                                                            
        Alaskan Malamutes are known and famous for sled racing.
This dog is known for pulling up to 2,630 pounds, the record at an International weight pull association competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1998.
