He is currently tied for 7th in the NFL for most career interceptions. After his career was over, his coaching career started. The Role of the Defense

The role of  the defense on the football field is to stop the other team from moving the football down the field. There are many different positions including, lineman, linebackers, safetys, and cornerbacks. The role of the cornerback is to cover a receiver and try to not let them get the ball. If a receiver on the other team receives the ball, it is the cornerbacks and safetys who try to catch him. Safetys play in thevery back of the formation.  The cover receivers and help with double coverage. It is the job of the defensive line to try to blitz the quarterback and sack him before he throws or hands off the ball. Linebackers blitz the ball and try to stop the ball.
