Steve Harris started all of this. When you hear the words Iron Maiden you should think about hard rock or simply heavy metal but, there would be no Iron Maiden with out this man, Steve Harris. Steve taught himself the bass guitar when he was very young. he taught himself in a way that could pass as lead guitar! |

He made a quote at the beginning of the Iron Maiden era that said only his type of bass playing would fit with the jagged edge of music Maiden produces. Steve's dad died right before Iron Maiden released one of the albums Brave New World. This was a heart breaking experience for him because Steve and his dad were very close. On the Brave New World CD there is a song called Blood Brothers dedicated to his father. |
