Kobe Bryant is the son of former NBA player Joe "jellybean" Bryant. In his second season he was voted starter for the 1998 All- Star team, becoming the youngest player at nine-teen to play or even start in the All-Star Game becoming the youngest player in NBA history.
Kobe appeared in eighty games and averages 25.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists in 33 minutes.
Kobe is ranked among league leaders in scoring (6th/25.2), assists (19th/5.5), field goal percentage (34th/.439), free throw percentage (35th/.829), steals (27th/1.48), and minutes played (20th/38.3). The most points he has ever scored in a game was 57 points verse Memphis Grizzlies. 
His father Joe played eight NBA seasons with Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers, and the Houston Rockets. 
He is a former coach at La Salle High School. As a senior Kobe Bryant was selected by the USA Today and the Parade Magazine as the Nations High School Player of the Year. 
Kobe also earned the Player of the Week honors with 32.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists. Kobe Bryant in 2004 was accused of raping a girl while in Colorado. He is still on trial but is still playing in his games.
