Celine Dion was born on March 30, 1968,in Charlemagne, Quebec. Today she is one of the biggest international stars in pop music history, selling more than 100 million albums worldwide.
The youngest in the Dion family, Celine is one of fourteen children. Her brothers and sisters are Michel, Daniel, Jacquese, Paul, Denise, Liette, Louise, Pauline, Ghislaine, Linda, Manan, Clement, and Claudette. Celine’s mother’s name is Therese and her father’s name is Adhemar.
She started her singing when she was only five years old. She would sing at her mother and father’s piano bar. By the age of twelve, Celine had written her first song, “ Ce N’etait Qu’un Reve” [ It Was Only A Dream ].
With the help of her mother and brother, Celine recorded “ Ce N’etait Qu’un Reve”. After the recording, they shipped the demo tape off to music producer, Rene Angelil. They found his name on the back of a popular francophone singer Ginette Reno.
Celine has recorded many English albums. But she originally started out by singing in French, her native language. She has recorded over a dozen albums in French. Some her more popular ones are “La Voix Du Bon Dreux”, “D’eux”, “Sil Suffisait D’Amier”, “Dion Chante Plamondon”, “Les Chansons En Or”, “ Celine Dion En Concert”, and “C’est Pour Toi “.
